Job Description
SriLankan IT Systems drives the airline’s IT strategy through digital transformation, technology adoption, data modeling, business intelligence, and business continuity. The focus is on transforming business and operational processes, expanding digital passenger reach, and improving customer experience through solution design, development, and integrations while enhancing airline IT domain knowledge. Award-winning SriLankan IT team is seeking dynamic individuals to join as Business Systems Analysts.
The individual is responsible for undertaking Business Systems Analysis in a wide range of Airline Business Processes covered with complex integration of IT systems, administration, operations, and process automations to deliver the best value of IT services to the division and the business users.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analyze and illustrate Airline business processes to visualize how IT penetration can add value in Airline Business Processes with cost-effective and minimum efforts.
- Prepare requirement specifications with clear sets of objectives, functional descriptions, system features, and deliverables to govern the business process value.
- Identify data challenges, system limitations, and integration complexities in IT Business process automation and work on delivering the most appropriate data modeling, process mapping, and development approach.
- Establish a strong IT-Business Relationship with key functional user champions through proven competence gained in IT Business Processes.
- Identify training requirements of Business Units and organize and coordinate training for users to ensure their capability of handling the system.
- Ensure that contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers align with organizational policies, regulations, and industry standards and monitor contract performance to ensure that all parties fulfill their obligations as per the agreed-upon terms.
- Handle all departmental administration functions independently, including correspondence and maintaining an appropriate filing system.
- Identify and monitor staff movement and handle the process of maintaining operational charts, staff data base, divisional internal, and local and overseas training.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation within existing contracts, and analyze contract terms, negotiate revisions when necessary, and recommend strategies for optimizing contract value and effectiveness to support the IT department’s objectives.
- Prepare the Annual Budget of the IT Division to ensure the continuation of already existing IT Products and services and the incorporation of future enhancements, products, and solutions.
- Provide management feedback (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) for the efficient usage of information assets in business units delivered through effective IT Business Analysis.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from a recognized University with a minimum of 1 year of post-qualifying relevant experience (Engineering, Computer Science, General Science with Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Applied Statistics) or a full professional qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 7 with 3 years post-qualifying experience in a relevant discipline.
